Product Identification Company Donates Custom Plaque for Garfield Fire Monument
Garfield, NJ – Product Identification Company (PIC), a Garfield, New Jersey-based manufacturer of custom signs, plaques, labels, nameplates, and industrial identification products, recently created and donated a custom commemorative plaque for the Garfield Exempt Firemen’s Association Monument. The plaque was produced and donated at no cost to the City of Garfield or the Garfield Fire Department as part of the restored monument display, helping preserve the history of Garfield’s volunteer firefighters and the community members who helped bring the monument back to life.

The Garfield Exempt Firemen’s Association Monument was originally dedicated on September 8, 1962. The monument stands as a tribute to the combined efforts of Garfield’s Fire Companies and the Garfield Exempt Firemen’s Association, recognizing the service and dedication of local firefighters throughout the city’s history. Over time, the monument required restoration and preservation work to maintain its appearance and historical significance. Supporting the Monument Restoration Effort
During the summer of 2025, members of the Garfield Exempt Firemen’s Association began work on the restoration and preservation of the original monument. The restoration project included:

- Installing poles and chain barriers
- Replacing broken lighting fixtures
- Improving the surrounding landscaping
Members of the Fire Department and community volunteers came together over many Saturdays to assist with the work. Their efforts helped restore the monument and make it a respectful, well-maintained part of the Garfield community once again.
